The next crucial step is fabrication, where we shape our printed models into final aligners using advanced thermoforming techniques. Our state-of-the-art Fabrication Department is equipped with 10 Bio Star and Mini Star machines, which play a pivotal role in this transformative process.
After the 3D models are printed and pass quality assurance checks, they are carefully cleaned and prepared for the thermoforming process. Each model represents a stage in the patient’s orthodontic treatment plan.
We use high-quality thermoplastic sheets that are biocompatible, durable, and transparent. These sheets are specifically designed for orthodontic applications, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements of strength and clarity
The thermoplastic sheet is placed in one of our Bio Star or Mini Star machines, where it is heated to the optimal temperature. Once the sheet becomes pliable, it is molded over the 3D model. The machines apply uniform pressure to ensure the plastic conforms accurately to the model’s contours.
After molding, the aligner is allowed to cool and harden. It is then carefully trimmed and polished to remove any excess material and ensure a smooth, comfortable fit for the patient.
